Please note that certain partner service providers, such as Amazon, may collect or verify your membership or account information and other necessary personal information for verification purposes through redirect links or email to determine whether you are eligible to receive potential upgraded services. In such circumstances, the privacy policy of the relevant service provider will apply. Please review the related notices carefully.
3.5 Marketing Automation and Ad Attribution
To improve your experience, conduct personalized marketing activities, and measure the actual performance of advertising, we will provide information about your interaction with the website, transaction and order details, marketing interaction data, and other information to third-party marketing automation and ad attribution service providers, including tools such as Klaviyo, Privy, Smile, ReferralCandy, Bazaarvoice, and Judge.me.
The purposes for which we use the above information include:
(1) Marketing automation and customer communication
We use marketing automation tools such as Klaviyo and Privy to send you emails, SMS, or other marketing information relevant to your choices based on your interactions. Such information is also used for advertising performance measurement and conversion attribution.
(2) Statistical and behavioral analysis
We use statistical analysis tools such as Microsoft Clarity to analyze your behavior on our website to improve website services and your experience. The data is not linked to individuals and is used only for aggregated analysis.
We use behavioral analysis tools such as Awin's affiliate tracking to analyze your click records and other behavioral data, assess commercial orders generated by promotional partners, and improve the effectiveness of our advertising services.
(3) Membership, referral, and rewards programs
If you participate in our membership points program or rewards program, we will use services such as Smile and ReferralCandy to process information related to points, membership levels, referral relationships, reward eligibility, and related transactions to manage member benefits and referral rewards. Such information is also used for ad attribution analysis.
(4) Management of reviews and rating activities
If you review our products or services, we will use tools such as Bazaarvoice and Judge.me to process related information, which is also used for ad attribution analysis.
In addition, we may provide your email addresses to advertising analytics service providers such as Google and Facebook for remarketing advertising (such as analyzing user segments by matching information from Facebook's user database with the provided email addresses) and provide customer service event data to advertising service providers such as Meta and TikTok to associate your interaction, inquiry, and purchase behaviors on the website with prior advertising interactions, thereby measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and optimizing advertising delivery.
We use Shopify to support our online store—you can learn more details about how Shopify uses your personal information here: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.
3.6 IT Systems and Software Services
The Govee website may, for purposes of using web hosting services (including cloud storage), mobile applications or software optimization services, customer relationship management software, and system maintenance services or email service provision, share your personal data with IT system and software service providers partnered with the Govee website. If you refuse to provide this information, you may be unable to use the basic features of the Govee website normally.
3.7 Legal Requirements
We may share personal data where necessary for the following purposes: (I) complying with applicable laws or responding to, investigating, or participating in valid legal proceedings and litigation, including those initiated by law enforcement or government authorities; (II) enforcing or investigating potential violations of our terms of service or policies; (III) detecting, preventing, or investigating potential fraud, abuse, or security issues, including threats to the public; (IV) fulfilling our corporate and social responsibility commitments; (V) protecting the rights and property of us and our customers; (VI) resolving disputes and performing agreements.
3.8 Company Transactions
In the event of a merger, divestiture, reorganization, bankruptcy, dissolution, or sale or transfer of certain assets, we may disclose personal information (including account information, wallet balances, or points information) or all of our assets to buyers, potential buyers, affiliates, or other successors. Whether as part of a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceedings, your personal information relating to use of our services that we hold may constitute assets subject to transfer. You acknowledge and agree that we have the right to transfer or assign your personal information in such circumstances.
3.9 With Your Consent
We may disclose your personal information for any purpose with your consent.
4. Information Security and Storage
Govee attaches great importance to the security of your information and takes multiple physical, administrative, and technical measures to protect the integrity and security of all information we collect and all information we share with service providers. The Internet is not an absolutely secure environment. We strongly recommend that you use secure login methods and set a complex password to help us protect your account security. We also strongly recommend that you do not share your password with others or reuse a password that you have used on other websites or applications when using our services, as doing so may increase the risk of your account being subject to hacking or other malicious cyber activities. If you believe that the security of your account or personal data has been compromised, please contact us immediately at support@govee.com.
When you access or use our services, your personal data may be processed or transferred outside the country/region where you reside. The data protection laws of such countries or jurisdictions may differ in certain respects from the laws of the jurisdiction in which you reside. If you do not want your information to be transferred outside your country or jurisdiction in which you reside for storage or processing, you should immediately stop accessing or using our services. If you would like more detailed information about such transfers and the measures we use to facilitate them, please contact us immediately.
In addition, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event that a personal information security incident occurs, we will inform you of the basic situation and possible impacts of the incident, the measures we have taken or will take, recommendations for you to prevent and reduce risks, and remedial measures for you, in accordance with legal requirements. We will notify you of information relating to the incident through email, SMS, push notification, or other appropriate means. When it is difficult to notify each personal information subject individually, we will issue an announcement reasonably and effectively. Meanwhile, we will report the disposal of such personal information security incidents according to the requirements of the regulatory authorities.
We will retain the information necessary to ensure the normal operation of core account features for the duration of your account's validity period. The retention period for personal data will be strictly limited to the minimum period necessary to achieve the relevant processing purposes. Where applicable laws require a longer retention period, we will retain the information in accordance with such legal requirements.
5. Your Data Subject Rights
Under applicable laws, you have certain rights related to your personal data, including the right to request access to, correction, modification, deletion, and withdrawal of your personal data, the right to transfer your personal data to other service providers, and the right to object to the use of such data for specific purposes. If you want to exercise any of these rights, please contact Govee customer service at support@govee.com.
If you want to cancel your account and delete your data, you may also exercise this right through the account deletion feature on the Govee website. Before submitting a request to cancel your account, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:
5.1 Scope of Application
Your account deletion request applies only to and takes effect simultaneously on the govee.com and goveelife.com sites. Due to independent account systems, the accounts, data, and access permissions associated with community.govee.com will not be affected by this deletion request and will continue to be retained.
5.2 Processing and Cooling-off Period Mechanism
To protect the security of transaction fulfillment and prevent potential fraud risks, we will process your account deletion request as follows:
l A ten-day cooling-off period for account deletion is provided for users with historical order records. If you have historical order records, a ten-day cooling-off period for account deletion will begin after you submit your deletion request. During this period, your account will not be locked or restricted from access, and you can still normally log in and use your account. However, to protect the security of cross-border logistics and after-sales fulfillment, any of the following behaviors during this period will be deemed a withdrawal of your deletion request, and the system will automatically cancel the request: a. logging in to your account and placing an order using that account; b. logging in to your account and requesting the after-sales service for a historical order; or c. placing an order using the email address associated with the account without logging in to your account. Users with no historical order records are not subject to the ten-day cooling-off period for account deletion.
l Physical data erasure is provided. If a user with historical order records does not take any action that cancels the request during the ten-day cooling-off period for account deletion, or if a user with no historical order records submits a deletion request, we will formally initiate the physical data erasure process. Your personal information will be permanently deleted from, or irreversibly anonymized in, the active databases of our primary systems within 14 business days from the date on which the process begins.
l Re-registration is subject to the following restrictions. After account deletion, if you subsequently register again using the same information, the system will not issue any new user discounts, welcome vouchers, or related initial points benefits again.
5.3 Data Processing by Third-Party Partners
Upon receiving a valid deletion request from you, we will, in accordance with applicable laws, send data erasure instructions to certain third-party partners that assist with the operation of our online stores. Please note, however, that necessary transaction and delivery records involving payment gateways, logistics carriers, and warehousing partners are exempt from deletion under statutory provisions, as they support legal and operational compliance obligations, including financial audits, tax compliance, anti-fraud measures, and cross-border logistics fulfillment. Such data will be processed independently and retained in accordance with applicable laws by the relevant third parties. For further information, please refer to the respective privacy policies of those service providers.
5.4 Data Anonymization and Publicly Posted Content
After successful account deletion, for purposes of statistics, business analysis, and financial audits, your historical transaction records will be retained but subject to irreversible anonymization, rendering them technically incapable of being re-identified, tracked, or linked to you personally. In addition, we will perform de-identification on any product reviews you previously posted publicly (displayed as "anonymous" or "verified buyer"). The text of such reviews may continue to be retained to preserve the integrity and objectivity of the platform.
5.5 Treatment of Virtual Assets and After-Sales Benefits
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. All unconsumed assets stored under the account (including but not limited to membership points, membership level benefits, vouchers, and coupons) will automatically become invalid and cannot be restored or redeemed for cash. After deletion, you will be unable to initiate after-sales requests through your account. We will automatically compile the invoices for all products that are still within their warranty periods at the time of account deletion and send them to you as attachments. If you require after-sales service in the future, these invoices will serve as the sole proof of eligibility for warranty service. If you hold a gift card, it will not be affected by the deletion of your account because it is not linked to your account. You may continue to use the gift card after your account is cancelled.
5.6 Retention Required by Law
Notwithstanding your deletion request, applicable laws (including but not limited to tax and financial laws, anti-money-laundering laws, and consumer protection laws in relevant jurisdictions) may require us to retain certain necessary financial records, tax reporting data, and transaction stubs for mandatory statutory retention periods. These legally retained data will be strictly isolated from daily operational databases and used only for compliance audits and will never be used for any commercial marketing or routine business purposes.
6. Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies
6.1 Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are sent to or accessed from your web browser or computer hard drive. A cookie typically contains the following information: the domain name from which the cookie originates (Internet location), its “lifetime” (namely, expiration time), and a randomly generated unique number or similar identifier. A cookie may also contain information about the device, such as user settings, browsing history, and activities conducted while using the services.
We and our third-party partners and providers use cookies and similar technologies to automatically collect certain personal data when you use the Govee website services. We use this information to enhance the navigation experience, analyze trends, administer the website, track your activity on the website, collect statistical information about our overall user base, and assist with marketing and customer service. You may adjust your preferences regarding our use of cookies and similar technologies by clicking Preferences in the cookie settings pop-up window on the relevant page. This cookie preference management tool is specific to the website, device, and browser. Accordingly, when interacting with a particular website you are visiting, you need to adjust your preferences separately on each device and browser that you use. You may also stop all collection of your information by us through online services by ceasing use of our website and services. In addition, you can use your browser's built-in tools to disable or delete cookies, or exercise certain privacy choices by adjusting permissions on your mobile device or Internet browser. If you choose to disable certain types of cookies, it may restrict your use of certain features or functions of the Govee website.
6.2 Other Local Storage
Certain third parties and we may use other local storage technologies in connection with certain products and services, such as a local shared object (also known as a Flash cookie) and HTML5 local storage. Similar to cookies, these technologies store information on your device and may record certain information about your activities and preferences. However, these technologies may use different storage media from cookies. As a result, you may be unable to control them using standard browser tools and settings.
In addition, our website uses pixels, which are snippets of HTML code loaded when you visit a website or open an email. They help track your behavior and activities. With tracking pixels, advertisers can obtain data used for online marketing, website analytics, or email marketing. If analyzed in specific ways, data collected through these pixels can also be used for other purposes, such as retargeting or behavioral advertising. For example, Govee has deployed the Facebook Pixel on its website. The Facebook Pixel enables Facebook to match website visitors with their Facebook user accounts. If you want to disable these tracking pixels, there are various ways you can prevent them from collecting your data:
(1) Set your browser and email settings as restrictively as possible to ensure that external graphic elements are supported only with permission and that HTML emails are not supported. Appropriate firewall settings can also achieve this.
(2) Some browser extensions can be used to make tracking pixels visible (such as PixelBlock, uBlock Origin, HTTPS Everywhere, etc.).
(3) For more information about how targeted advertising works, you can visit the educational webpage of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI): https://thenai.org/about-online-advertising/how-does-it-work/.
6.3 Do Not Track
Unless required by law, we do not commit to responding to "Do Not Track" signals in your browser. If applicable laws require us to recognize opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC), we will process such signals as required by law.
7. Other Matters Involving User Interests and Requiring Notice to Users and Disclaimers
Except for circumstances described in Section 3 of this Policy, your specific requests, or legal requirements, we will not share, disclose, sell, lease, or otherwise provide your personal data to other companies for promoting their products or services without your prior consent. We have never "sold" and will not "sell" your customer information.
7.1 Links to Third-Party Websites
Our applications or websites may contain links to third-party websites, and this Policy does not apply to these third-party websites. If you click a link to any such website, please note that the website has its own privacy policy, and we do not assume any responsibility or liability for its policy. Please check the respective website's privacy policy before submitting any information to these websites. In addition, our website may include social media features, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest buttons (including "Like", "Tweet", or "Pin"). Whether or not you click the buttons, these social media websites automatically record information about your browsing behavior each time you visit a website with social media buttons. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing them, not by our privacy policy. Please review your privacy settings separately on the respective social media websites.
7.2 Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children or minors under 16 years of age (as defined by applicable national law), and we do not intentionally collect or retain personal information from minors. If you are a minor, please do not attempt to complete our forms or send any of your personal information to us. If a minor has provided us with personal information without the consent of a parent or legal guardian, the parent or legal guardian should contact us immediately at support@govee.com to delete the relevant personal information of the minor and unsubscribe.
If we find that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will immediately take measures to delete such information from our systems. As further described in our User Agreement, please do not upload or display photos of other people, especially photos of minors.
7.3 Your California Privacy Rights

We collect these categories of personal information from you, connected terminal devices, connected third-party accounts or platforms, and service providers. We use the information for the purposes described in Section 2, disclose the relevant categories of personal information for business purposes to the categories of recipients described in Section 3, and retain the information as described in Section 4.
Sale and sharing of personal information: We undertake not to sell your personal information. We provide order information, commercial data, network information, and other information to our partners to fulfill orders, deliver targeted advertising, and perform other relevant features, as described in Section 3. You have the right to limit or refuse the sharing of your information for targeted advertising purposes. To opt out, please click the Do Not Sell page. You may also opt out of the sharing of your personal information. If you want to opt out of the agreement regarding the use of cookies and similar technologies that involve the sale of personal data or the use of personal data for targeted advertising, please click the Cookie Settings link in the website footer and adjust your preferences accordingly. If you visit our website with GPC enabled, any cookies used for sale or targeted advertising should be automatically disabled. Please note that this opt-out tool is specific to the particular website, device, and browser. Therefore, you need to adjust your preferences for the device and browser you use each time you visit a specific website.
California privacy rights: Subject to applicable exceptions, California residents may have the right to request access to the categories and specific pieces of sensitive personal information we have collected, obtain information regarding the categories of sources, the purposes of use, and third parties involved, request correction of inaccurate sensitive personal information, request deletion of sensitive personal information, and obtain a portable copy of sensitive personal information. In addition, California residents have the right to limit and opt out of the sale or sharing of sensitive personal information.
Sale and sharing of sensitive personal information: We do not sell or share sensitive personal information (as defined by the CCPA). We use sensitive personal information only for purposes permitted under the CCPA and will not use or disclose such information for purposes beyond those permitted by law. We also do not use such information to infer characteristics about you. We do not knowingly sell or share sensitive personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
Non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights granted under the CCPA. This includes refusing to provide you with goods or services, charging you different prices or rates, or providing you with goods or services of a different level or quality, except as otherwise permitted by law, such as in connection with financial incentive programs.
How to exercise your rights: You can contact us at support@govee.com. Before processing a request to exercise your rights, we need to verify your identity and confirm that you are a resident of a state in which the relevant right applies. To verify your identity, we generally require confirmation through your account authentication or compare the information you provide with information stored in our systems. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. We generally require proof of authorization or may require you to verify your identity directly to confirm that the authorized agent has the appropriate authority. We generally respond to relevant requests within 45 days. Where necessary, we may extend this period once by an additional 45 days and will notify you of the extension.
Other US states: If you are a resident of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or other US states with comprehensive privacy laws, you enjoy similar rights, including the rights to access, correct, and delete personal information and to obtain a portable copy of your personal information. You may also have the right to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, and (where applicable) profiling for decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. To exercise these rights, please contact us at support@govee.com.

Right of access and/or data portability: You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you. In certain circumstances, you may request that such information be provided to you so that you can provide or "port" it to another provider.
Right to erasure: In certain circumstances, you have the right to request deletion of the personal data we hold about you (for example, where the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was originally collected).
Right to object: In certain circumstances, you have the right to request that we stop processing your personal data and/or stop sending you marketing communications.
Right to rectification: You have the right to request that we rectify any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

Right to non-discrimination: Users exercising any rights under this Policy shall not be subject to any discriminatory treatment, including but not limited to denial of services, different prices, or reduced service quality. We will not treat you differently only because you make a data subject request or exercise any other rights granted by applicable laws.
To exercise your rights, or if you have any other questions regarding our use of your personal data, please submit a request using the contact information we provide in the Contact Us section of this Privacy Policy. Please note that we may ask you to provide additional information to verify your identity and confirm that you are entitled to access the relevant personal data.

The EU Data Act may grant users of connected products and related services certain rights, including the right to access specific product data and related service data generated through the use of such products and services, and, subject to the conditions and exceptions provided by law, the right to request that such data be provided to a third party. The Act also requires the provision of certain pre-contractual information regarding such data and access arrangements. For more details, please click Govee EU Data Act at the bottom of the homepage.
7.6 Lawful Basis for Data Processing
If you are located in the EEA, we will only process your personal data where there is a valid legal basis under the GDPR. The legal basis on which we rely to process your personal data includes:

(3) Your consent: In certain circumstances, we will obtain your explicit consent before processing your personal data. Examples include optional analysis, sending marketing emails, or push notifications. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
(4) Legal obligations: We are obligated to collect or retain certain personal data as required by law, such as data required for tax-related obligations.
For data collection, processing purposes, and their corresponding lawful basis, please refer to the Appendix.
7.7 Cross-Border Transfers of Personal Data
We may transfer your personal data to other countries whose laws and data protection compliance requirements may differ from those of your jurisdiction. For transfers of personal data from the EEA, Switzerland, or the UK to servers located in the US, such transfers will either be protected by an existing cross-border data transfer framework, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or conducted pursuant to another applicable transfer mechanism where the destination country is not considered to provide an adequate level of protection. Depending on the specific transfer scenario, safeguards may include the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, as well as relevant technical and organizational measures, such as encryption and access control.
If you want to learn more information about the specific transfer mechanisms we use, please contact us using the contact information provided in the Contact Us section.
